OAHS student musicians selected for PMEA festivals

Oxford Area High School sophomore John Coterwas and junior Thomas Sumner recently performed at Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 12 music festivals. John, son of Linda and Frank Coterwas, was selected to play tuba at the PMEA District 12 Band Festival, held from Jan. 23 to 25 at Bishop Shanahan High School. Thomas, son of Susan and Scott Sumner, performed as Tenor 2 at the PMEA District 12 Chorus Festival held from Jan. 9 to 11 at Phoenixville Area High School, where he qualified for the Region 6 Chorus Festival held on Feb. 18 at Upper Merion High School. After auditioning at the regional festival, Thomas was selected to perform in the All-State Chorus at the PMEA State Conference to be held in Hershey from March 26 to 29.
