Chester County Antiques Show slated April 4 to 6

The 32nd Annual Chester County Antiques Show, a benefit for the Chester County Historical Society, will be held from April 4 to 6 at the Phelps School in Malvern.

There will be a gala preview party on April 4 from 5 to 9 p.m., with regular hours on April 5 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and April 6 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The theme of this year's event is "Recreation, Hobbies, and Leisurely Pursuits." The show attracts more than 2,000 visitors and collectors every year. Special events include a lecture, “American Sewn Rugs and the Decorative Art” by Jan Whitlock (April 5 at 1 p.m.), expert appraisals offered on April 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and a talk and book-signing with Daniel R. Biddle and Murray Dubin, authors of “Tasting Freedom: Octavius Catto and the Battle for Equality in Civil War America” on March 7 at 7 p.m.
