COPPER WIRE STOLEN

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale are investigating the theft of about 300 feet of copper wire that was taken from live utility poles sometime between Jan. 1 and Feb. 3 in the area of 136 Media Rd. in East Nottingham Township. Anyone with information is asked to call trooper Mantione at 610-268-2022.

CAR STOLEN

On Jan. 21, a driver who stopped his car at a facility in the1300 block of Newark Road in New Garden Township left his car running while he went inside to pick up his son. While he was gone, the car was stolen. Surveillance footage showed Deborah Renner, 52, of Lincoln, Del., who was staying at the facility, getting into the car and driving away. At 10 p.m., Delaware State Police reported that they had Renner in custody after she crashed the vehicle. She was jailed in Delaware and will be extradited to Pennsylvania to face charges.

DUI

New Garden police arrested Timothy Hanning, 28, of Avondale on Jan. 24 after police saw him driving erratically in the 900 block of Penn Green Road. Police said Hanning appeared intoxicated, had several opened cans of beer in his car, and also had a pipe with suspected marijuana in the car. He was arrested and released pending a court appearance.
