01/15/2014 07:47PM ● By Acl

PAWS for People is holding a new class for families called ‘What do you do with the dog at home?’ Classes will be held on three consecutive Monday evenings in January and February at the TCHS building-Pennock’s Bridge.

The series will focus on teaching parents how to work with family pets to motivate, comfort and support their own special-needs children in their homes. The classes will be held at TCHS Pennock’s Bridge Campus (280 Pennock’s Bridge Rd., West Grove). Registration is open for the first set of classes, which will be Jan. 27 and Feb. 3 and 10 from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. The cost is $25 per family.

Lynne Robinson,  executive director at PAWS for People, said, “I am so pleased that we are able to offer these classes to the community and prove that therapy pets are having a tremendous positive impact on kids with special needs – encouraging communication, interactions, and calming anxious or self-stimulating behavior.”
