Oxford Area High School junior Jason D’Antonio, son of Janet and Matthew D’Antonio, was recently named a winner of the Widener University High School Leadership Award.

In its third year, the awards program is designed to recognize high-school students in the Philadelphia region. Those who receive the award have been recognized for their ability to demonstrate courage by standing up for what is right, finding a way to address a wrong or making a difference in a significant way.

Jason is junior class president, student council secretary and a member of National Honor Society. He is also a member of Future Business Leaders of America and serves on the high school’s Renaissance Committee. He is an inaugural member of the Interact Club sponsored by the Oxford Rotary Club and formed at the high school this past fall.

Jason will join other selected students for an awards event at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia on March 20. Honorees will also be invited to attend a leadership training conference to be held later this year on the Widener campus.

Award recipients will receive a scholarship of $20,000 over four years should they enroll at Widener University for undergraduate studies.
