Oxford senior Erin Reph named National Merit Commended Scholar

Oxford Area High School senior Erin Reph, daughter of Kristin and Michael Reph, has been named a 2014 Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Erin is one of approximately 35,000 high school students throughout the United States to be recognized as Commended Students based on their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top 5 percent scorers of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2014 National Merit Scholarship competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Erin is a member of National Honor Society, the Spanish Honor Society and the Tri-M Music Honor Society, singing in the senior chorus and choral ensemble. She is a member of Future Business Leaders of America and volunteers in the G.O.L.D. girls’ mentoring program. She is a four-year member of the varsity swim team and was named captain in her senior year.

Erin is enrolled in AP courses in English, U.S. history, calculus and computer science. After graduation she plans to study international business as well as chemistry. Her choices include Duke, Lehigh, Villanova and North Carolina State universities and Messiah College.
