Seven seniors from Avon Grove High School have been named Commended Students in the 2014 National Merit Scholarship Program. The students who received the honor are Asa M. Budnick, Marcus L. Forst, Carli L. Huber, Luciana B. Pawliczek, Ethan C. Phillips, Matthew D. Rollings, and Nicholas A. Wood.

The Commended Students are among 34,000 students nationwide who placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2014 National Merit Scholarship competition by taking the 2012 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

Each of these scholastically talented seniors was recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2014 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, each received a Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which conducts the program.
