The Chester County Art Association announced last week that Karen Delaney has been named the new executive director of the association, replacing longtime director Darcie Goldberg.

Delaney received a master's degree in fine art from Radford University in Virginia where she was a teaching fellow; she also received a certificate in museum studies from Harvard University. She has taught art history and art studio classes at the college level, and has worked as a program manager and teacher at the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh. She is also a sculptor who has been featured in numerous shows in the Unite States and in Europe.

"I have a tremendous respect for the position I have been given and for the rich history of this organization,” Delaney said. “The CCAA has served our community in great ways for many decades, and I vow to continue and to expand upon those practices. Looking forward, I am thrilled with the prospect of a newly renovated West Chester building and intend to tap into what’s current art-wise, making CCAA a vital and vibrant hub for the visual arts in Chester County."

The Chester County Art Association is at 100 N. Bradford Ave., West Chester. For more information, call 610-696-5600.
