A 33-year-old Kennett Square man was arrested in Texas on the evening of Nov. 4 on charges that he sexually assaulted a minor in 2012.

New Garden Township Police announced that Miguel Angel Vazquez was charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a minor, aggravated indecent assault of a minor, and indecent assault of a minor. The incident, which occurred in the Liberty Knoll Apartments on Cedar Springs Road in Kennett Square, was reported to New Garden police in July 2012

Vazquez is also under investigation for a domestic-related kidnapping that was reported by police on March 12, 2013.

New Garden Police have worked with federal and regional law enforcement to apprehend Vazquez, but he eluded capture until Nov. 4, when police in Alton, Texas, contacted New Garden police and said that Vazquez was in custody after a brief foot chase. He will be jailed in Texas pending his extradition back to Pennsylvania to face charges.
