11/06/2013 03:12PM ● By Acl

If hip pain is preventing you from enjoying an active lifestyle, you can learn about an alternative, anterior approach hip replacement, at a "Dinner with the Doctor" program on Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. at the Jennersville Regional Hospital.

This procedure offers less post-surgical pain, a faster recovery and a lower risk of hip dislocation. The evening's program will feature orthopedic surgeon Craig Smucker, M.D.

Dr. Smucker, who is board certified, graduated from Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed a surgical internship and orthopedic residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey. He completed fellowship training in hip and knee replacement at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons, following several years as a member of the Medical Staff of Nanticoke Memorial Hospital and Lifecare at Lofland Park, both in Seaford, Del. He was previously named one of Delaware's Top Docs by Delaware Today magazine.

"Dinner with the Doctor" will be held in the hospital cafeteria. It is free and open to the community with pre-registration. Space is limited. Dinner is served starting at 6 p.m., with the lecture starting shortly after.

Jennersville Regional Hospital is at 1015 W. Baltimore Pike in West Grove. To attend, call 610-869-1223 or e-mail your name, address and phone number to [email protected].  Directions and additional information about medical services offered at Jennersville Regional Hospital are at www.jennersville.com
