Hooray for Holly!

U-CF school director Dr. Holly Manzone dropped a bomb at the recent board meeting.

Manzone resigned because she couldn't stand the "inplaying" with other school board members and the administration.

She cited self-serving interests and double dealing, with particular emphasis on Superintendent John Sanville and his immediate predecessor for not telling the truth about a theft of services incident that was accidentally discovered. A family who didn't live in the district had sent kids for multiple years, and was discovered. Manzone herself found that the superintendents secretly settled the matter without demanding back tuition from the family, and without telling the school board.

Uncle Irvin wrote a recent column about Unionville-Chadds Ford and other districts' negligent lack of oversight in checking residential requirements of every student each year, thus inviting out-of-district students to enjoy the high standards and prestige of the U-CF district without paying.

School board directors and senior administrators don't want to "look bad," as Manzone stated, by publicly acknowledging these incidents. U-CF residents are paying huge property taxes to educate kids who live in the district and administrators could care less about it.

Uncle Irvin understands why Dr. Holly Manzone walked away.
