Letter to the Editor:

We are writing this letter as two very active and involved parents with children in the Avon Grove School District. We have been leaders the PTAs and PTOs, volunteered countless hours in our local schools and believe passionately in education.  As regular attendees of school board and committee meetings we are well aware of the challenges that our school district faces.  Property taxes, school safety, quality of education including advances in technology, class size and the upkeep of our buildings and grounds should be the primary focus of our school board members.

After careful consideration we are endorsing the following candidates that we feel will best address the challenges facing the Avon Grove School District: Brian Gaerity and Patrick Walker in Region 1, Ed Farina in Region 2 and Pattie Lyons in Region 3. These candidates have demonstrated through their commitments and experience that they have the knowledge and desire to lead our school district into the future.      

We hope in this election people will put party affiliation aside as we have decided to do.  As a registered Republican and a registered Democrat we have chosen to support those candidates who are vested in our children’s education and our community regardless of party labels.

Your vote on Nov. 5 is essential. Vote for the candidates who will look out for our children, and the candidates who will bring the most energy, commitment and passion to education: Brian Gaerity, Patrick Walker, Ed Farina and Pattie Lyons.
