Pitts voted against ending government shutdown

Letter to the Editor:

I think it is interesting to note how Joe Pitts voted on the proposals to end the government shutdown.  There 285 members of the House of Representatives who voted to approve the proposals to end the government shutdown and raise the debt ceiling and 144 who voted against the proposal.  For the Republicans in the House, 87 joined the members voting to approve the proposal with 144 voting against.

I think the voters in Congressional District 16, which includes voters in Kennett Square, should note and remember that their Congressman—Joe Pitts—voted with the 144 members  who were against ending the government shutdown and  raising the debt ceiling.  Once again, Joe Pitts voted the straight Republican line which may not have been in the best interests of of his constituents.
