The Lady Red Devils, donning pink socks and hair ribbons, hold hands for the playing of the National Anthem. The team's final home game was a fundraiser for Play 4 the Cure in support of breast cancer research.

For the final game of the season, the Avon Grove field hockey team wanted to leave a lasting impression not only on the field, but off the field.

The senior players approached their coach, Sandy Leiti, about holding a fundraiser for the breast cancer organization Play 4 the Cure.  Anyone wearing pink was not charged admission to the game, but was asked to donate to Play 4 the Cure. The stands were filled with parents and students wearing pink, the team wore pink socks and hair ribbons, and pink balloons lined the field.

The team collected more than $250 for Play 4 the Cure. With the game tied at 1-1 going into overtime, the Lady Red Devils huddled at the sideline and made it known they wanted their final home game to be a win. Midway through the overtime,  Avon Grove's Anna Gould tipped a perfect pass past the Great Valley goalie to win the game. The team rushed the field in what will also be a lasting impression, especially for the senior players.
