SOLICITING WITHOUT PERMIT

Kennett Square police cited Fernando Felix, 55, of Wilmington, Del., on Sept. 18 for soliciting in the borough without a permit. The business he worked for, Hogar Crea International of Wilmington, Del., was also cited.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Eugene Boddy, 37, of Kennett Square, was arrested by Kennett Square police for disorderly conduct after an incident at a business in the 200 block of East State Street on Sept. 13 at 7 p.m.

RETAIL THEFT

Kennett Square police cited Michelle Sanchez, 21, and a 16-year-old girl, both of Kennett Square, for retail theft on Sept. 18 in the 100 block of South Mill Road.

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale reported that a man and woman removed a shopping cart full of items from the Walmart store in Oxford on Oct. 2 without paying, and fled in a gold 2006 Ford Taurus with Maryland license number 9AH4504. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-268-2022.

SIMPLE ASSAULT

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale arrested Kristine Dorlaine Walsh, 48, of Rising Sun, Md., on assault charges after a domestic dispute on Oct. 1. After the dispute, Walsh thew a lawn chair through the window on the front door of a home in the 500 block of East Christine Road in West Nottingham Township. She was charged with simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief.

HIT AND RUN

New Garden Township police arrested Jose Sandoval-Sanchez, 24, of Oxford, in connection with a hit-and-run crash on Sept. 23 at the intersection of Baltimore Pike and Bancroft Road.  
The driver of the car that had been hit told police he had stopped to make a left turn and was struck from behind by a silver Mitsubishi Eclipse. A witness photographed the Eclipse's license plate. Sandoval-Sanchez was later identified as the car's owner and was charged, pending a court apperance.

TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST

New Garden Township police stopped a car being driven without lights on the evening of Sept. 23 on West Cypress Street. The driver, Michael Meyers, 21, of Avondale, gave police permission to search his car. Police found a baggie containing suspected marijuana under the driver's seat. He was charged and released pending a court appearance.

DUI

New Garden Township police arrested Elmer Espinosa, 30, of Wilmington, Del., for DUI on Sept. 29 just after midnight in the 8800 block of Gap Newport Pike. He was charged and released pending a court appearance.

New Garden Township police responded to a report of a hit-and-run crash on Sept. 27 on Hillendale road. The driver of the car that had been struck had followed the striking vehicle to a parking lot on Scarlett Road. A damaged vehicle was found and its owner, Urbano Martinez-Castaneda, 60, of Kennett Square, admitted that he had struck the other car and that he had been drinking. He was arrested for DUI and will also be taken to Chester County Prison for an outstanding bench warrant.

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale arrested David Edward Duran, 60, of Lincoln University, for DUI after a traffic stop on Oct. 6 on State Road at Jays Crossing in London Grove Township.

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale arrested Hugo Lopez, 31, of Wilmington, Del., for DUI after responding to a report of a one-vehicle crash on Oct. 7 on Route 52 north of Hillspring Road.

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale arrested Crystabelle McGrath, 20, of Linwood, Pa., for DUI on Oct. 1 after a traffic stop on Fairville Road south of Cossart Road.

Pennsylvania State Police arrested Lisa Marie Foley, 53, of Oxford, for DUI after stopping her car for a traffic violation on Oct. 2 on Fifth Street in Oxford.
