Orthopedic Surgeon Elliott Leitman, M.D. will be talking about advances in knee replacement procedures on Oct. 23.

As one of the most common surgical procedures, knee replacements help patients resolve chronic pain resulting from osteoarthritis of the joint. If you or a loved one are coping with arthritic knee pain, you won't want to miss "Advances in Knee Replacement Surgery," presented by orthopedic surgeon Elliott Leitman, M.D., on Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria at Jennersville Regional Hospital.

Part of the hospital's ongoing "Dinner with the Doctor" series, this presentation is offered free of charge to those who call in advance to register.

Leitman will discuss both the total joint replacement as well as the new robotic assisted partial knee replacement procedure available at Jennersville Regional Hospital.  With the recent addition of this technology, the partial knee replacement has become a more viable option for patients with disease in only one or two compartments of the knee.

An independent member of the medical staff at the hospital, Leitman has expertise in joint replacement, orthopedic trauma, sports medicine and general orthopedics. He also completed a sports medicine and joint replacement fellowship with Booth, Bartlozzi, Balderston Orthopaedics, serving on the medical staff of Philadelphia's Eagles, Flyers, Phantoms and Kixx. Leitman is also the team doctor for several high schools.  He has published numerous articles, authored several orthopedic textbook chapters, and has lectured extensively on knee and shoulder injuries.

To attend, call 610-869-1223 or e-mail your name, address and telephone number to teresa_rougeaux@chs.net. Dinner is served starting at 6 p.m., with the lecture starting shortly after. The hospital is at 1015 W. Baltimore Pike in West Grove.
