Hike Across Delaware on Nov. 2

10/16/2013 02:27PM, Published by ACL, Categories: In Print

The annual Hike Across Delaware is scheduled for Nov. 2. Participants check in at 8:30 a.m. in Delaware City, where they will board buses that take them to the Delaware/Maryland line on the C&D canal for a scenic 14-mile hike along the trail.

The hike is mostly on a level trail of pavement along the canal. It is well marked, and experienced Wilmington Trail Club members will help participants enjoy the day.

At the midpoint, St. Georges, Del., water and foods are provided. At this point, transportation to Delaware City is provided for those who wish to do only an eight-mile hike.

The price is $13 for members and $16 for non-members. This includes bus and other transportation, food items and a Hike across Delaware T-shirt for everyone who signs up by Oct. 26. The last day for registration is Oct. 30.

Children and runners, bikers and dogs on leashes are welcome, but only people can ride the bus. This is not a competitive event and participants set their own pace. To sign up,
