Property taxes for iPads!

Taxpayers in the Oxford Area School District are paying for 1,224 iPads with your property tax money.
Never mind that at least 15 percent of the students already have their own iPad, and at least 60 percent of the students have parents well off enough to supply their kids with electronic devices. That leaves maybe 25 percent whose parents can't afford around a $600 investment.
Perhaps those students who meet the can't-afford criteria would be eligible for a device.
A much more affluent school district, Unionville-Chadds Ford, does not supply iPad devices to its students. Why does a school district as poor as Oxford go out and spend your tax dollars money on devices while state tests show many Oxford High School students are not literate, so they can't read their iPads?
