BURGLARIES

A garage at 235 White Oak Drive in Oxford was burglarized on Sept. 19 between 1:30 and 6:30 a.m. Pennsylvania State Police Avondale reported that several items were stolen from unlocked vehicles in the garage. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-268-2022.

The unlocked attached garage of a home at 563 Waterway Road in Oxford was burglarized on Sept. 19 just after 1 a.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police Avondale. A .40 caliber Glock semi-automatic pistol was stolen, along with Apple computer devices. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-268-2022.

A home in the 100 block of Thames Drive in Lincoln University was burglarized on Sept. 24, according to Pennsylvania State Police Avondale. Stolen were three shotguns, a handgun and an Xbox 360 game system. The loss was estimated at about $2,300.

INDECENT ASSAULT

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale arrested Norberto Gonzalez, 24, of Kennett Square, on Sept. 15 for indecent assault and corruption of minors. Gonzalez allegedly fondled a 9-year-old girl. Bail was set at $20,000 and Gonzalez was taken to Chester County Prison to await a preliminary hearing.

STOLEN CAR WRECKED

A 2003 BMW owned by Lamar Andre Boyer of Coatesville was stolen on Sept. 25 at about 3:30 p.m. and wrecked a short time later on southbound Gum Tree Road, north of South Beaver Dam Road. The car hit guardrails on both sides of Gum Tree Road, drove through two front yards at 300 and 301 Gum Gree Road, and stopped when it struck a stone retaining wall. The car was empty when police arrived on the scene. It sustained major damage and was towed by Null's Towing. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-268-2022.

MACHINERY STOLEN

Pennsylvania State Police reported that a Takeuchi compact truck loader was stolen from 470 W. Christine Rd., West Nottingham Township, sometime overnight on Sept. 22. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-268-2022.

HIT AND RUN

New Garden police arrested Wayne Hoilett, 21, of Brooklyn, N.Y., on Sept. 20 after a traffic stop. Police had earlier responded to a report of a hit-and-run collision at Gap Newport Pike and Limestone Road. The victim said the striking vehicle was a silver Infiniti that would have front end damage. Another motorist also reported an erratic driver in a silver Infiniti with Ohio plates. The car was stopped in West Fallowfield Township and the driver was arrested. Hoilett was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, arraigned by Judge Seavey in Avondale, and released on $5,000 unsecured bail.

CAR STOLEN AND CRASHED

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale reported that a motor vehicle was stolen from a home in the 20th block of Scarlett Road in Kennett Square on Sept. 22, and was then involved in a hit-and-run crash about a quarter of a mile from the home. The owner said the vehicle was stolen from his home and that the keys were left in the ignition.

CAR VANDALIZED

Yellow paint was poured on a vehicle parked in the 900 block of Old Library Lane in East Nottingham Township overnight on Sept. 19, according to Pennsylvania State Police Avondale. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-268-2022.

CAR BREAK-INS

Sometime between Sept. 1 and 4, several vehicles parked at a business in the 400 block of East State Street were burglarized, according to Kennett Square police. Two car radios and a scan tool were taken.

A GPS unit was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 400 block of West Linden Street on Sept. 4 between 2 and 8 a.m., according to Kennett Square police.

New Garden Township Police reported increased incidents of thefts from unlocked cars in the northeastern section of the township overnight on Sept. 10. Several incidents also occurred in the southeastern section of the township overnight on Sept. 15. Some vehicles were entered but did not appear to have anything missing. Loose change was stolen from most vehicles, along with electronics.  Police remind residents to always lock their vehicles, even if they are parked in a garage.

DUI

Kennett Square police arrested George Esterling IV, 22, of Hockessin, Del., for DUI on Sept. 6 at 1:33 a.m. after a traffic stop in the 200 block of South Union Street. He was released to a relative pending a summons from District Court.

James David Gleason, 51, of Nottingham, was arrested for DUI by Pennsylvania State Police Avondale on Sept. 13 at about 1:42 a.m. Police were investigating a crash on Barnsley Road at Christine Road when they found that Gleason was DUI.

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale arrested a 17-year-old from Hockessin, Del., on Sept. 12 at 12:40 a.m. on Good Hope Road north of Flint Hill Road in London Britain Township. He was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and other traffic offenses.

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale arrested Billy Joe Seaton, Jr., 60, of West Grove, for DUI after a traffic stop at routes 41 and 10 on Sept. 19 at 2 a.m.

New Garden Police arrested Roger Marrs, 45, of Kennett Square, for DUI after a traffic stop on Sept. 14 on Bancroft Road.

Keith Alan Blevins, 51, of Avondale, was arrested for DUI by Pennsylvania State Police Avondale on Sept. 20 after a traffic stop at East Sherry Lane and Roberts Way in London Grove Township.

Lisa Michelle Bukata, 35, of West Grove, was arrested by Pennsylvania State Police Avondale on Sept. 24 after a traffic stop at Baltimore Pike and Baker Station Road in London Grove Township.

New Garden police arrested Juan Colin-Garduno, 32, of Kennett Square, for DUI on Sept. 14 after he was stopped after driving erratically and speeding. He was charged and released pending a court appearance.

New Garden police arrested Antonio Gaytan-Almanza, 30, of Avondale on Sept. 21 after responding to a report of a car that had run off the road at Limestone and Kaolin roads. They found that Gaytan-Almanza was DUI and arrested him. He was later released pending a summons from District Court.
