Theresa (Terri) Edgar has been named the new Executive Director of the West Chester Area YMCA.

Edgar brings over 20 years of YMCA experience to the job, most recently as Director of Branch Operations at the West Chester Area YMCA, where she worked directly with former Executive Director Bruce Griffin and oversaw the day-to-day management of the branch as well as the community and staff division of the Y’s annual campaign.

“I am thrilled to be named the Executive Director at West Chester,” said Edgar. “I am passionate about helping others and this will allow me the opportunity to work more closely with our volunteers as we serve our community and ensure that the YMCA continues to be for all, regardless of ability to pay.”

Prior to her time in West Chester, Edgar spent 18 years at the Brandywine Branch of the YMCA of Delaware where she quickly rose through the ranks and spent her last eight years there as Associate Executive Director.

“We are so pleased to welcome Terri to her new leadership role at the West Chester Area Y,” said Denise Day, President and CEO of the YMCA of the Brandywine Valley. “She impressed us with her passion for the Y and operational skills over the last year and we look forward to expanding on that as we serve more children and families in the years to come.”
