Kennett High School announces AP scholars

Seventy-six current or former Kennett High School students have been recognized by the College Board for exceptional achievement on the college level Advanced Placement Program examinations that they took after finishing AP courses at Kennett High School.

Three students are recognized as National AP scholars.  This designation, the highest award, goes only to those who earn at least a 4 (on a 5-point scale) on all AP examinations taken, and grades of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams. AP Scholars are 2013 graduates Kiera Judge, Elsa Koninckx, and Michael Testa.

Twenty-five students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP examinations taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these. AP Scholars with Distinction are:  Oluwatoni Adetayo, David Bish, Zachary Bolten, Brendan Bowens, David Bunke, Zachary Cupec, Connor Dalphon, Kenneth Eland, Kristina Gallivan, Lucas Gramig, Jason Kim, Morgan Kollmeier, Connor Roth, Natalie Senderowicz, Molly Shiflet, Koji Shimomura, and Emma Spell; Kaitlyn Cassel, Christian Cordova-Pedroza, Katherine Coughlan, Aaron Hrenko, Kristen Miller, Ilayda Orankoy, Krishna Pathak, and Rebecca Rhodes (members of the class of 2014).

Eighteen students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP examinations taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these. Earning this award are: Carlyle Abate, Alexander Arvanitis, Heather Day, Hannah Frank, Richard Fucci, Ian Huezo, Krista Lafferty, Auburn Lattanzio, Toni Massetti, Sarah Mraz, Tyler Oakes, Nupur Parikh, and Arielle Pearlman (class of 2013); Emily Cziraky, Haley Devoe, Matthew Griffin, Breanna Haight, and Tyler Pike (members of the class of 2014).

Thirty students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP examinations with grades of 3 or higher.  The AP scholars are Morgan Austin, Alberto Beltran, Abigail Bobbitt, Sara Cristy, Olivia Danchik, Stephen Diluzio, Emma Eckert, Christopher Fleck, Madison Haas, Jeffrey Hauptschein, Jamielee Jimenez, Andrew Jones, Brianna Kenyon, Erin Kraynie, Steven Lawton, Amanda Reindl, Heather Ruble, Jessica Ruble, Gabriela Senderowicz, Kathryn Shiflet, Fiona Smith, Lauren Tandarich, Sanjay Yeleswaram, and Jacob Zenisek (Class of 2013);  Julia Baumel, Kellie Boyle, Diana Carmona, Eric Hyzny, and Ross Karwath (class of 2014); and Jonathan Baumel (class of 2015).

The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program offers students the opportunity to take challenging college level courses while still in high school, and to receive college credit, advanced placement, or both.  Students in grades 9 to 12 can continue to accumulate AP credits throughout their high school time. Kennett High School administered 426 examinations in 21 AP areas to 206 students in 2013.
