Sept. 14-15

'100 Artists Helping Artists'

The Howard Pyle Studio Group will hold its first major outdoor fund raising event to benefit the preservation and continued maintenance of the 130-year-old buildings that comprise the Howard Pyle Studios in Wilmington,  Del. More than 100 professional regional artists will exhibit original work on a clothesline display in the Event Tent at Twin Lakes Brewery (4210 Kennett Pike, Greenville, Del.). A silent auction will be offered. There will be free wine and beer tastings. The show hours are Sept. 14 from noon to 5 p.m., and Sept. 15 from noon to 4 p.m. Tickets are $10 (must be 21 to attend).

Sept. 28

Victoria Wyeth at fundraiser

The Center for the Creative Arts (410 Upper Snuff Mill Row, Yorklyn, Del.) presents its annual fundraiser, "Luck of the Draw," on Sept. 28. Guests will enjoy food, wine, live music and mingling. At the door, they draw a playing card for the chance to take home one work of art (donated by local artists) from nearly 100 on display. Wyeth will randomly select cards from a deck. The person holding the matching card then has one minute to choose any work of art on the walls. 'Masterworks of Photography'

The Delaware Art Museum (2301 Kentmere Parkway, Wilmington, Del.) hosts "French Twist: Masterworks of Photography from Atget to Man Ray" through Sept. 15. The show features 100 vintage prints from the golden age of French photography, 1910-1940. Continuing through Oct. 14, "Recognition: Artists of the Delaware Foundation for the Visual Arts" features 50 artworks by foundation members and high-school students. Rockwell Kent and Jamie Wyeth

The Brandywine River Museum (Route 1, Chadds Ford) presents "Rockwell Kent, Jamie Wyeth and Monhegan" through Nov. 17. The exhibit features works by both artists that have been inspired by the small island off the coast of Maine.
