Letter to the Editor:
We are writing this letter to let the community know how important our hometown of Oxford is to each of us.
We graduated from Oxford High School as members of the class of 1968, raised our families, contributed to our respective communities, and are very proud to see our hometown of Oxford still thriving and growing.
We are encouraged with the streetscape projects, the facade improvements, and the numerous events that continue to preserve a way of life that many of us enjoyed and continue to enjoy.
In this world of change, it is great to be able to take our children and our grandchildren to events in a town that was so much a part of our learning experience. With so many small towns fading away, it is great to see that Oxford continues to flourish, and reinvent itself, while preserving a rich history.
We support the Borough of Oxford and their work with the Oxford Mainstreet, the Oxford Chamber of Commerce, the Oxford Arts Alliance, and all the individuals who give tirelessly and generously to preserve a rich heritage that can be handed on to our children. We encourage all of you Oxford High school graduates to take a moment and consider donating to Oxford Mainstreet, Inc. in support of the revitalization of our “hometown.” OMI has worked with the borough for over ten years to promote family events such as the Country Christmas, the Chesco Grand Prix, the 5K Run, the Easter egg hunt, and the First Friday events.
If you miss the good old days, send a check, any amount, to Oxford Mainstreet, Inc. P.O. Box 315, Oxford, PA. Join us in keeping the memories of our youth and our town alive. The Class of 1968 is leading the charge.
