ASSAULT ARREST

Kennett Square police arrested Jeffrey Hallman, 44, of West Chester, after an incident in the 200 block of East State Street on July 5 at 8:37 p.m. He was charged with simple assault, possessing instruments of crime, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats, harassment, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. He was released to a relative pending a summons from District Court.

MOTORCYCLES CRASH

Three people were injured, one seriously, in a two-motorcycle accident on July 14 on Fifth Street in East Nottingham Township. According to Pennsylvania State Police Avondale, a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle being driven by Robert Miles, Jr., of Newark, Del., when the driver overcompensated for a curve in the road and drove off the road. Another Harley-Davidson motorcycle being driven by James Boyce of Elkton, Md., swerved to avoid the fallen motorcycle and Boyce's passenger, Sandra Boyce of Elkton, Md., fell off the motorcycle. Robert Miles was treated for a minor injury. His passenger, Theresa Vassallo, of Newark, Del., sustained major injuries. Driver James Boyce was not injured. His passenger, Sandra Boyce of Elkton, Md., was treated for moderate injuries. All four were wearing helmets, according to police.

THEFT

Sometime overnight on June 27, a purse and bag containing an iPod, jewelry, cash, prescription medicine and clothes were stolen from in front of a home in the 100 block of North Broad Street in Kennett Square, according to Kennett Square police.

WALMART THEFTS

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale are investigating a series of thefts from the Walmart store in Oxford that occurred last week. According to police, three women and one man in a tan 2007 Chevrolet Colorado with Maryland license plate 2AS7021 have stolen various electronics, lawn equipment and housewares from the store. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-268-2022.

BAD CHECKS

On July 1, Kennett Square police filed criminal charges against Diane Bonifacino, 36, of Kennett Square, for writing bad checks after an incident that occurred on May 9 in the 400 block of East State Street.

STALKING

A Wilmington man was arrested for stalking and harassment after an incident that occurred on July 7 at 4:51 a.m. outside a home in the 400 block of Inkwell Court in East Nottingham Township. Pennsylvania State Police Avondale said that Bwilliam Jedward Wright, 28, of Wilmington, was repeatedly flashing his headlights through the windows of a home, repeatedly texting and calling the victim, who was inside.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

Sometime between 6 and 10:45 p.m. on July 6, the front passenger side window of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of South Broad Street in Kennett Square was cracked, according to a report from Kennett Square police.

BURGLARIES

A home at 521 N. Mill Rd. in Kennett Square was broken into between July 15 and 16, and $1,100 in cash was stolen, according to a report from Pennsylvania State Police Avondale. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-268-2022.

Burglars damaged a shed door and stole a lawnmower that was inside at a residence on Valley Road in Penn Township sometime between June 26 and July 9, according to Pennsylvania State Police Avondale.

Nothing was stolen during the burglary of a home on Quail Drive in Franklin Township on July 9 between 6 a.m. and 5:44 p.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police Avondale. Someone entered the home through an unlocked window but did not steal anything before fleeing. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-268-2022.

FUEL TANK STOLEN

A 48-gallon fuel tank and a fuel pump were stolen from 100 S. Guernsey Rd. in West Grove sometime between June 28 and July 5, according to Pennsylvania State Police Avondale. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-268-2022.

ATTEMPTED THEFT

Someone stripped a door lock on a vehicle parked at Hilti, Inc., on Buttercup Drive in East Nottingham Township on July 15, according to Pennsylvania State Police Avondale. There were power tools inside the vehicle, but nothing was stolen.

CAR STOLEN

A Wilmington woman who was visiting her father's home on Rosedale Road in Kennett Township had her car stolen on June 23, according to Pennsylvania State Police Avondale. A white 1995 Honda Civic with Delaware plate number 296293 was taken at about 4 a.m. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-268-2022.

DUI

Kennett Square police arrested Alejandro Lopez, 42, of Kennett Square, for DUI after a traffic accident at South Union and East Cedar streets on July 1 at 1:35 p.m. He was released at his residence pending a summons from District Court.

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale arrested Fernando Andres Flores-Alvarez, 26, of West Chester, on July 14 after he was stopped for several traffic violations and was found to be DUI.
