The Willowdale Steeplechase announced on July 1 that as a result of this year’s race, $55,000 was distributed to several designated charities: The Stroud Water Research Center, Quest Therapeutic Services, Inc., and The University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine New Bolton Center.

Over the years, proceeds from The Willowdale Steeplechase events have helped build a state-of-the-art facility for disabled children at Quest Therapeutic Services, Inc. The Stroud Water Research Center has been able to further their research and education efforts to protect fresh water systems as a result of contributions from The Willowdale Steeplechase. The University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine continues to train students and conduct research at New Bolton Center with funds raised from the races.

Next year, the Willowdale Steeplechase will be held on May 11, 2014.
