Rockwell Kent and Jamie Wyeth

The Brandywine River Museum (Route 1, Chadds Ford) presents "Rockwell Kent, Jamie Wyeth and Monhegan" through Nov. 17. The exhibit features works by both artists that have been inspired by the small island off the coast of Maine. 'Photographs of Artists' Homes & Studios'

The Brandywine River Museum (Route 1, Chadds Ford) presents "Creative Spaces: Photographs of Artists' Homes and Studios" through Sept. 8. The exhibit of photos taken in the homes of 38 artists of the 19th and 20th centuries includes Jackson Pollock, Grant Wood, Andrew and N.C. Wyeth, Frederic Church, Georgia O'Keeffe and others. Clothesline art show

The Oxford Arts Alliance (38 S. Third St., Oxford) presents a Clothesline Show in conjunction with the Newark Arts Alliance through July 26. Regional artists will display framed and unframed paintings, photos and prints in a casual setting.

Studio sale

Bookplace (2373 Baltimore Pike, Oxford) presents "Cash and Carrie," a sale of artworks from the collection of local artists Greg Watson and Carrie Mae Smith, through July 21. There will be oil paintings, sketches and small sculptures for sale. 'Explorer Mornings' at Brandywine

The Brandywine River Museum (Route 1, Chadds Ford) offers "Explorer Mornings" for ages 3 to 10, accompanied by an adult, from July 11 to Aug. 1. There will be sessions from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day. Children get an interactive, guided tour of one or more museum galleries, followed by an art activity. Participants can come to one workshop or all four. Included in museum admission. The schedule is: "Cool Colors" (July 11); "Art and Nature" (July 18); "Animal Safari" (July 25); and "Who Am I?" Free museum admission

The Brandywine River Museum (Route 1, Chadds Ford) will offer free museum admission to celebrate the birthday of the late artist Andrew Wyeth on July 12. Visit www.brandywinemuseum.org.

Book signing and opening

The Darlington Arts Center (977 Shavertown Rd., Garnet Valley, Pa.) hosts an opening reception and book signing on July 16 for "The Brandywine Valley," an exhibition of oils and pastel originals by Garnet Valley artist Annette Alessi, and a book signing of "100 Artists of the Brandywine Valley" by author Catherine Quillman.

Alessi's exhibition will showcase historic locations from the Brandywine Valley, including the Kuerner farm in Chadds Ford. The free reception is from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.  The show will be open through Aug. 16. For more information, visit www.darlingtonarts.org or call 610-358-3632.
