The formal dedication of the London Grove Township Municipal Authority's (LGTMA) new spray irrigation/lagoon wastewater treatment plant on Rose Hill Road took place on July 1, before London Grove Township and Municipal Authority board members and employees.

The plant will process an average of 98,000 gallons a day, and will support future public sewer needs for any residential or commercial development. It is scheduled to begin treatment sometime in July.

The origins of the treatment plant date back to 2005, when the LGTMA was awarded a $250,000 spray irrigation grant from the Chester County Planning Commission, which it used in the purchase of property previously owned by the Conard Pyle Company. In July 2009, the LGTMA was awarded a $5 million H20 PA shovel ready grant, which was earmarked for the construction of a municipal spray irrigation wastewater treatment plant. KC Construction served as the general contractor for the first phase of the plant's construction, and Parkside Utility was the general contractor during the plant's second phase.

The ceremony included a ribbon cutting, and comments from Karen Crossan, LGTMA manager, Richard Scott-Harper, LGTMA chairman, and Bob Kane, outreach director for U.S. Congressman Joe Pitts.
