The death of customer service

Customer service doesn't exist anymore. In fact, most large companies like PECO, Verizon, etc., don't even list customer service telephone numbers. They want you to e-mail them and wait months for any response.
Then when you do get them on the phone:
You will have to wait because they fired most of their help.
You will have to identify yourself by either pressing telephone keys or by voice mail, which is a bigger joke. It never works.
The first live person to answer the phone can't help you and must transfer you to someone else.
You are cut off and have to start all over again.
The only time you get through easily to a live person is to order something.
After they sell you and get your money, they couldn't care less.
