The Chesco Pops will perform at Unionville High School on July 11.

The Chester County Pops Orchestra will present three concerts in July.

The performances will take place at Unionville High School (750 Unionville Rd., Kennett Square) July 11 at 7:30 p.m.; Phoenixville Area Middle School (386 City Line Ave., Phoenixville) on July 14 at 3 p.m.; and Fugett Middle School (500 Ellis Ln., West Chester) on July 16 at 7:30 p.m.

The program, "Red, White and  Swingin'," includes selections from "Chicago," by Marvin Hamlisch and Duke Ellington, as well as "St. Louis Blues" by W. C. Handy, and sounds of the 1960s. Also featured in this program is the Chesco Pops Trumpet Section playing "Bugler's Holiday" by Leroy Anderson, and soprano soloist Anna Marie Matteo.

Sixty-five musicians perform under the direction of Jacques Voois. Since its founding in 2005, the orchestra has performed more than 45 concerts.

For this series, the Chesco Pops welcomes conductors Kevin G. Cooper and Gary D. White, two of four candidates being considered for the position of music director/conductor for the orchestra after he retirement of Voois in 2014.

The Chesco Pops is again partnering with a local non-profit in each of the communities where the concert venues are located. Proceeds support the Unionville Chadds Ford Education Foundation, the Phoenixville Area Public Library and the Chester County Historical Society.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors (62 and older). All children and students are free. For more information, visit www.chescopops.org, e-mail [email protected], or call 610-594-9178.
