John Bradley II (left) and James F. McNew recently celebrated their Eagle rank with family and friends. Jamie is wearing both the Eagle badge he earned and his grandfather’s Eagle badge.

Boy Scout Troop 22 in Unionville recently honored two new Eagle Scouts, John Bradley II and James (Jamie) McNew, at the Unionville Presbyterian Church.

John is the son of Deborah and John Bradley, and he graduated from the Unionville High School in 2012.  He just finished his first year at Saint Joseph’s University, where he qualified for the dean's list and honor roll.   He enjoys volunteer work and is a skilled guitarist.

Jamie is the son of Laura and Robert Bruce McNew.  He is a senior at  Unionville High School and is a member of the Spanish Club, National Honor Society, the UHS wrestling team, and rugby club.  He will attend the Pennsylvania State University at State College.

For his Eagle Scout project, John organized the reparation of a section of running trail used by the Unionville High School Cross-Country Team. He led a small group of scouts in removing rocks from the path, leveling the ground, straightening the trail, and planting grass seed.

For his Eagle project, Jamie led a beautification project for the Chadds Ford Historical Society. His crew cleared out brush along the roadway, and replaced and extended the locust fence. He raised $1,600 to pay for the materials for this project and coordinated the delivery of the materials and the volunteers.
