The West Grove-Avondale Rotary Club recognized Scott Taylor, a junior at Avon Grove Charter School, as the May Rotary Student of the Month.

Taylor and his parents were invited to join the members of the Rotary Club during one of their breakfast meetings on the third Thursday of each month at 7 a.m. at Jenners Pond. He was invited to speak before the club members about his scholastic activities, sports, outside interests and future goals. He received a certificate, along with a $25 gift certificate to a bookstore.

Taylor's favorite classes are mathematics, history and physical education. With his passion for sports and the outdoors, he has volunteered to help with grade level field days at school. He has also assisted with Earth Day activities. He completed his Eagle Scout project (Troop 30 - West Grove) at Avon Grove Charter School. For his project, he enclosed an area behind the greenhouse for plantings and a pond.

He has also worked at the Brandywine Picnic Park and volunteered at the Brandywine Valley Association, completing outdoor maintenance projects. He plans to attend college and major in mechanical engineering or landscape architecture.
