Robert Anthony Jackson of West Grove was arrested for sexually assaulting two boys.

SEX OFFENDER ARRESTED

A registered sex offender was taken into custody by Pennsylvania State Police Avondale on May 22 in connection with a series of sexual assaults that occurred between February 2013 and May 19. Police say Robert Anthony Jackson, 53, of West Grove, assaulted two boys, ages 6 and 9, at a home on Summit Avenue in West Grove while he was supposed to be caring for them. He was charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault and related offenses. He is a sexual offender under Megan's Law and is required to register with the state police. He was taken to Chester County Prison in lieu of $1 million bail.

SHOPLIFTERS ARRESTED

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale officers apprehended three serial shoplifters after viewing surveillance video of incidents that occurred between May 2 and 13. The three suspects were charged with stealing merchandise from the T.J. Maxx store in East Marlborough Township. Arrested were Matthew Ryan Wilkinson, 21, of West Grove; Francis Rivera-Perez, 23, of Kennett Square; and Hector Morales, 36, of Avondale.

BURGLARIES

Kennett Square police reported that a home in the 200 block of South Walnut Street was burglarized on May 6 sometime between noon and 6:33 p.m. The resident said nothing appeared to be missing. The investigation is continuing.

A home in the 500 block of Kenview Avenue in Kennett Square was burglarized on May 8 between 10:30 a.m. and 5:17 p.m., according to police. The resident said $40 in change was missing.

The garage of a home in the 200 block of Columbra Street in Cochranville was targeted by burglars on May 21 at about 1 a.m., according to a report by Pennsylvania State Police Avondale. Police say two males in their 20s and wearing black hoodies entered the garage and the homeowner's van looking for valuables. Nothing was taken and the two fled. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-268-2022.

CONCORD PET STORE ROBBED

On May 19 at about 4:15 p.m., an armed robber stole about $200 from the Concord Pet Food and Supply store on Newark Road in New London Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Avondale. The suspect was described as in his 20s or 30s, about 180 pounds, with dark hair and a beard. He was wearing black clothing and a ski mask when he robbed two clerks at gunpoint and then fled on foot toward State Road.

CONSIGNMENT STORE ROBBED

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale say that a man stole three sterling silver bracelets from a display case at A Dressy Deal Consignments (816 W. Baltimpore Pike, West Grove) on May 18 at about 1:33 p.m. and fled in an older white or cream-colored BMW. A possible registration number was taken at the scene and police are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-268-2022.

DRUG POSSESSION

A 17-year-old boy was arrested by Kennett Square police for possession of a controlled substance on May 6 after he was stopped while walking on the railroad tracks at Center Street and Las Rosas Drive. He was referred to juvenile probation.

DUI

Kennett Square police arrested Jose Martinez-Diaz, 28, of Kennett Square, for DUI after a traffic stop on May 5 in the 200 block of South Willow Street. He was released pending a summons from District Court.

Kennett Square police arrested Jose Gomez-Martinez, 29, of Kennett Square, for DUI after a traffic stop on May 6 in the 500 block of South Union Street. He was released pending a summons from District Court.

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale arrested Alfonso Gasca-Torres, 26, of Kennett Square, for DUI after a traffic stop on May 16 at Route 41 and Limestone Road in New Garden Township.
